Marin Headlands
Just north of San Francisco are the Marin Headlands. This area was first fortified in the times of the big gold rush. There was the danger that confederates would try to steal the gold from the San Francisco Mint. Later in WW1 and WW2 and the cold war these positions were further fortified and extended. A large system of bunkers, missel sites and storage facilities are every where in this hilly areal. These are some of my first pictures to try to captures this.
